This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Peanut stuffed banana pepper

This is an awesome recipe of stuffed banana pepper . An excellent side dish with rice and dal. So go ahead and entertain your guest with this yummy dish at your next cookout/party

Ingredients:
10 banana peppers
1/2 cup roasted peanuts
1/4 cup roasted til (sesame seeds)
2 strands curry leaves
6-7 garlic pods
1 tea spoon jaggery
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 table spoon grated dry coconut
1/2 tea spoon red chili powder
1 tea spoon garam masala powder
1 table spoon oil
salt to taste
Preparation:
1. Wash, pat dry and slit banana pepper and de seed
2.Grind to a coarse powder peanuts, til, curry leavesgarlic, cumin seeds, dry coconut.
3. Add red chili powder, garam masala powder, jaggery and salt and mix well
4. Stuff this pea nut masala in the banana pepper.
5. Arrange on a greased baking dish
6. Drizzle oil and bake in the oven at 180 degree for 15 minutes or till banana pepper wilts
7. Serve as a side dish with hot rice and any dal.
