Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Ram Bhana Gojju !

During the course of a heavy wedding lunch, Ram Bhana Gojju is one dish everyone looks forward to. Its tangy and spicy taste leaves a  scintillating impression on the taste buds . 


Ingredients:
1 big raw sour mango
10 green chilies
4-5 garlic pods
1 strand curry leaves
1 tea spoon mustard seeds
1 dry red chili
1 table spoon oil
salt to taste

Preparation:
1. Wash and peel the raw mango and cut into big pieces
2. Cook the mango pieces till soft.
3. Mash the pieces well  , add 1/4 cup of water and make into puree ,add salt
4. Finely chop green chilies
5. Finely chop garlic
6. Heat oil in a pan ,add mustard seeds, red chili, curry leaves, garlic and green chilies and saute till mustard splits.
7. Add this to the mango puree and mix well.
8. Serve with hot rice.
