Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Mango Cake


Mango cake
                                                               
The king of fruits "mango" is one of the most popular ,nutritionally rich fruit. Its unique flavour, taste, colour and fragrance not only makes it a great fruit to eat but also a variety of dishes can be prepared from it.


Ingredients:
2 cups mango puree
1/12 cup fine flour (maida)
1/3 cup butter or vegetable oil
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/4 cup limca
1 tea spoon baking soda
2 tea spoon baking powder
1/2 tea spoon salt
1/4 tea spoon cardamom powder
2 tea spoon vanilla essence

Preparation:
1. Pre heat oven at 180 degree
2. Sieve maida,  salt, baking powder and baking soda together
3.Mix together mango puree, condensed milk.
4. In  a mixing bowl mix the sieved flour, and mango puree ,condensed milk, oil/butter
5. Add the limca , vanilla essence and cardamom powder and mix well in one direction only.
6.Pour the cake batter into a greased baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
