Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Aam Panna

A tangy, delicious ,Indian drink made from green raw mango is renowned for its heat resistant properties. Besides being tasty, this drink is known to fight the intense Indian summer.

Ingredients:
1 raw green mango
1 cup sugar
1/2 tea spoon salt
1/4 cup pudina (mint) leaves
1 tea spoon roasted jeera
1/4 tea spoon rock salt
6 glasses chilled water

Preparation:
1. In a sauce pan place the green raw mango with water and boil well till mango is  well cooked
2. Drain off water, peel, slice and pulp the mango.
3. In a mixer put the mango pulp, pudina leaves, jeera, salt, rock salt, sugar and blend well.
4. Transfer into a jar add water to make juice.
5. Add crushed ice, mix well
6. Serve chilled.
