Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Spinach Watermelon and Walnut Salad


Spinach, Watermelon and Walnut Salad

Salads are comfort food especially during summers. It is a meal that can be fixed in no time. Spinach Watermelon and Walnut Salad is a healthy and filling meal. The crunch of the walnuts adds to the taste and is bound to make a tasty meal.

Ingredients (Serves 4)
1 cup spinach roughly chopped
2 cups water melon  deseeded and chopped to bite size
4 table spoon chopped walnuts
1/2 cup grapes cut into halves (black /green)
1/2 cup golden kiwi finely chopped (optional)
4 table spoon feta cheese

For dressing:
1 table spoon avocado oil/olive oil
1 tea spoon lemon juice
1 tea spoon honey
1/2 tea spoon pepper powder
Salt to taste

Preparation:
  1. Mix well all the ingredients mentioned in the dressing  and set aside
  2. Mix spinach, water melon, walnuts, grapes, kiwi
  3. To the above mixture add the dressing and gently mix
  4. Add the feta cheese
  5. Serve chilled
