Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Fruit and Spinach Smoothie


Fruit and Spinach Smoothie

Smoothies are thick beverages made with fruits and vegetables blend together. They are tasty , filling and most importantly healthy. It makes it easier to eat right !! It is a welcome drink during summer seasons.

Ingredients (makes three glasses)
2 bananas
2 oranges
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
1/2 cup chopped spinach
1/2 cup chopped straw berries
2 table spoon almond powder
1 table spoon lemon juice
1/2 cup chilled water  if required (depends on the consistency of the smoothie one likes)


Preparation:
  1. Peel the oranges, section the oranges and remove the seeds
  2. Peel the bananas
  3. Wash and chop the spinach
  4. Blend all the ingredients mentioned using a blender
  5. Add water  if the consistency is too thick
  6. Pour on to the glasses and serve chilled
