This halwa is a simple, colourful, delicious halwa made with yellow pumpkin during festivals. Try this yummy halwa this Navaratri.
Ingredients: Serves 5
- 3 cups yellow pumpkin
- 11/2 cup sugar
- 2 table spoon fine sooji
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup ghee
- Pinch of saffron
- 1 tea spoon cardamom powder
- 2 table spoon blanched almonds
Preparation:
- Peel and grate yellow pumpkin
- Soak saffron in 2 tea spoon of milk
- In a pan heat 2 table spoon ghee and sauté the sooji on low flame for two minutes
- Add the grated pumpkin and sauté for 2-3 minutes
- Add milk and cook on low flame till pumpkin is cooked well
- Add sugar and keep stirring
- Add ghee and continue stirring till the ghee leaves the sides and a mass is formed
- Add the soaked saffron, cardamom powder and mix well
- Put off the flame and garnish with blanched almonds
- Serve hot
