Hesarubele chakkuli (Moong Dal Muruku) |
Moongdal muruku is a crispy crunchy snack made with moong dal and coconut milk. It is a yummy tea time snack . The coconut milk adds a mild sweetness to the muruku.
Ingredients:
2 cups rice flour
1/2 cup moong dal
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 table spoon ghee
1 table spoon jeers
1 table spoon til
Pinch of hing
Salt to taste
Oil for frying murukuPreparation:
- Dry roast moong dal till light brown
- Powder the roasted moong dal in a mixer
- Mix together rice flour, moong dal powder, hing, jeera, til, ghee and salt
- Add the coconut milk (I used the store bought coconut milk) and mix well.
- Add required amount of water and knead a smooth ,soft dough
- Rest the dough for 15 minutes
- Heat oil for frying muruku
- Fill the dough into the muruku press and press directly into the oil
- Fry till golden brown and remove on an absorbent paper
- Store in air tight container
