Chiroti Rave Shavige (Iddiyapam)

                                             Chiroti Rave Shavige
Iddiyapam is a common breakfast dish served in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It is normally made with boiled or raw rice. I have tried idiyapam with chiroti rave and it tastes great.

Ingredients: (serves three)
2 cups chiroti rave
11/2 cup water
Salt to taste

Preparation:
  1. In a thick bottom pan bring 1 1/2 cup of water to boil.
  2. Add salt and  chiroti rave and put off the flame. Mix well and allow the mixture  to cool
  3. Grease hand and knead the mixture into a soft dough
  4. Put the dough into the iddiyapam (shavige) press and press on to the greased idle plate
  5. Steam the idiyapam (shamige) for 7-8 minutes
  6. Serve with coconut chutney or majjige huli.
