Chiroti Rave Shavige
Iddiyapam is a common breakfast dish served in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It is normally made with boiled or raw rice. I have tried idiyapam with chiroti rave and it tastes great.
Ingredients: (serves three)
2 cups chiroti rave
11/2 cup water
Salt to taste
Preparation:
- In a thick bottom pan bring 1 1/2 cup of water to boil.
- Add salt and chiroti rave and put off the flame. Mix well and allow the mixture to cool
- Grease hand and knead the mixture into a soft dough
- Put the dough into the iddiyapam (shavige) press and press on to the greased idle plate
- Steam the idiyapam (shamige) for 7-8 minutes
- Serve with coconut chutney or majjige huli.
