Badam Halwa |
Badam Halwa is a rich, tasty Indian dessert. It is prepared with almonds. This halwa has a predominant taste of almonds.
Ingredients:
2 cups Almonds
11/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup ghee
Saffron, a pinch soaked in a table spoon of warm milk
5 cardamom powdered
1/2 cup of sliced almonds
Preparation:
- Soak the almonds in warm water for 4-5 hours
- Peel the skin and grind the almonds to a smooth paste adding milk
- Heat 2 table spoon of ghee
- Add the ground paste, sugar, saffron soaked in milk and stir the mixture on low flame
- Once the mixture starts thickening and the sides starts getting a little dry add the rest of the ghee and cook till ghee leaves the sides of the pan
- Switch off the flame and add the cardamom powder and garnish with sliced almonds
- Serve warm
- Almond halwa stays fresh in the refrigerator for a week
