Tawa Lauki |
Ingredients: (makes 20 pieces)
1 small lauki (bottle gourd)
2 tea spoons red chili powder
1 tea spoon garlic powder or grated garlic (optional)
1/2 tea spoon haldi
1 tea spoon amchur powder
Oil for cooking tawa lauki
Salt to taste
Preparation:
1. Peel and dice bottle guard to 1/2 inch thickness
2 .In a bowl mix red chili powder, garlic powder salt, haldi and amchur powder
3. Heat a tawa . Place 6-7 lauki dices on the tawa sprinkle the masala mixture , 1/2 tea spoon oil over each dice, cover and cook on medium heat
4. Turn the bottle gourd dice and again sprinkle some masala and oil, cover and cook till the bottle gourd turns into light brown colour
5. Remove on to a plate and repeat with the remaining dices
6. Serve as an accompaniment with rice and dal
