Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Buttermilk
With summer slowly setting in, chilled buttermilk is a refreshing beverage any time of the day. It cools and soothes the body. Make large quantity and store in the fridge, to be consumed through out the day.

Ingredients:
500 liter sour curd
Juice of 1 lemon
1 table spoon grated ginger
1/4 tea spoon hing
1 spoon sugar
 salt to taste
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
1/12 liter chilled water
Preparation:
1. Blend together curd, lemon juice, grated ginger, hing, sugar,salt, coriander leaves and water in a blender till frothy.
2. Store in a refrigerator
3. Serve chilled
