Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Banana Salad

                                                               
Banana Salad
Banana salad is a very soothing dish on a hot day. The combination of banana with cucumber and crunchy peanuts makes this dish very delicious. Prepare this salad and see it disappear within seconds!

Ingredients:
3  chopped  ripe banana
1/2 cup fresh sweet curd
1 small  peeled and finely chopped cucumber
1 table spoon roasted  and coarsely ground peanuts
1/4 cup finely chopped soya (Dil) leaves
1 table spoon finely chopped mint leaves
1 table spoon finely chopped coriander leaves
1 table spoon lemon juice
1 finely chopped green chili
1 tea spoon honey/sugar
1/4 tea spoon freshly ground black pepper
Salt
Preparation:
1.In a mixing bowl whisk curd .
2.To this curd add soya leaves, mint leaves, chopped green chili,coriander leaves, honey/sugar,salt, pepper powder and mix well
3. Combine chopped cucumber and  chopped banana and add lemon juice and mix well
4. Mix the cucumber and banana mixture with curd mixture and add the coarsely ground peanuts
5. Mix well and serve chilled
