Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Til Ladoo


Til Ladoo
Til (sesame) laddu is usually made during winter months because til (sesame) is believed to have heating properties. Til provides both heat and energy to the body and helps keep body warm during winter months

Ingredients: (makes 25 ladoos)
250 gm black or brown til (sesame)
200 gms jaggary
1 tea spoon elachi powder
1 table spoon ghee

Preparation:
1. Heat kadai and dry roast the til on medium flame til sesame starts splitting
2. Cool and blend the til coarsely
3. Grate the jaggery and mix  with the blended til
4. Add the elachi powder and ghee
5. Mix and make small balls of this mixture
6. Store in air tight container
