Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Methi Poori


                                                                         
Methi Poori
Different kinds of breakfast items are always welcome, especially on a holiday. Methi poori is one such simple dish and does not need any side dish along. It can be served as a snack with evening tea also.

Ingredients:
2 cups wheat flour
1 cup finely chopped fresh methi leaves (Fenugreek leaves)
1 table spoon chiroti rava
1 table spoon oil
1 tea spoon chili powder
 1 tea spoon jeera powder
1/2 tea spoon haldi
Salt to taste

Oil for frying poori

Preparation:
1. Mix all the ingredients for poori , add sufficient water and knead into a stiff dough.
2. Heat oil for frying poori
3. Divide the dough into lemon size portions and roll into small pooris
4. Slide the poori one at a time into the hot oil and fry on both sides till golden brown
5. Remove on an absorbent paper.
6.. This poori can be stored for 4-5 days
