This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Fresh baby corn are used to make this simple yet yummy side dish. The highlight of this dish is the crunchiness of the baby corn. This dish is an excellent accompaniment with rice and dal

Ingredients:
Baby corn 20 nos
1 strand curry leaves
1 tea spoon red chili powder
1/8 tea spoon hing
1/2 tea spoon haldi
1 tea spoon mustard seeds
1 table spoon oil
Salt to taste
Preparation:
1. Wash and cut baby corn into two, length wise
2. Add enough water, salt and cook baby corn till soft but crunchy
3. Drain water and set aside the cooked baby corn
4. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard, hing, haldi, curry leaves and saute till mustard splits
5. Add the cooked baby corn and saute for a minute on low flame
6. Serve with rice and dal
