Green Tomato Curry |
Green tomato curry is a very spicy and tangy dish . It is a good accompaniment with hot rice or roti. The cooked green tomatoes has a lovely sourness to it.
Ingredients: (serves two)
6 medium size green firm tomatoes
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped green garlic
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
1 strand curry leaves
3-4 finely chopped green chilies
1 tea spoon mustard
1 tea spoon sugar
1/2 tea spoon haldi
Salt to taste
2 table spoon oil
Preparation:
- Cut tomatoes into four pieces
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard
- When mustard splits add haldi, curry leaves and green chilies
- Sauté a for a minute and add the chopped onions , salt and sauté till translucent
- Add the cut tomatoes, green garlic, sugar and sprinkle 1/4 cup water , cover and cook till tomatoes are well cooked
- Put off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves
