Kodubele

Kodubele
Kodubele is a traditional tea time snack of Karnataka. It is mildly spicy and crunchy. Although it requires a little effort to make , it is worth its taste!

Ingredients:
2 cups rice flour
1/2 cup semolina (Fine rava)
1/2 cup maida
1/4 tea spoon hing
2 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 cup hot oil
salt to taste
Oil for frying Kodubele

Preparation:
1. Mix rice flour, maida , rava, salt, hing , red chili powder well
2. Heat 1/2 cup oil till it smokes and add to the above mixture. Mix well with a spoon
3. Knead a  smooth and firm dough adding just enough water.
4. Rest the dough for 15 minutes
5. Divide the dough into lemon size balls
6. Using your palm roll the balls to make half inch thick and long rolls.
7. Join the ends to form a circle
8. Repeat this with all the dough
9. Heat oil for frying kodubele
10. Deep fry 10 kodubeles at a time. Do not overcrowd , otherwise kodubele will not get cooked within.
11. Fry on medium heat till brown in colour
12. Drain on absorbent paper and store in airtight containers
