Ammana adige mane in Kannada means mother's kitchen. This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Banana Bread





Banana Bread
                                                                         
Moist, sweet, delicious banana bread is made with mashed bananas and nuts. Banana Bread is sure to please your entire family.


Ingredients:
2 cups maida (fine flour)
3 ripe bananas
1/3 cup oil
1/1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 tea spoon cinnamon powder
1/2 tea spoon salt
1 tea spoon baking powder
1 tea spoon concentrated yeast extract
1 tea spoon vanilla extract
1 table spoon walnuts
1 table spoon black resins
1 table spoon sliced almonds

Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 180 degree centigrade
2. Grease a bread pan and set aside
3. Mash three bananas.
4. Chop all the nuts finely
5. Sieve maida, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together.
6. In a large bowl mix sugar, oil, mashed banana, yeast extract and vanilla extract well
7. To the banana mixture slowly add the dry ingredients  and mix well in one direction.
8. Add milk and mix well.
9. Add  all the nuts and fold well.
10. Pour the banana bread batter into the greased bread pan and bake in the oven for 1 hour.
11. A knife inserted in the bread should come out clean.
