Spinach Pasta |
Pasta is a staple food of traditional Italian cuisine. There are hundreds of different shapes of pasta. In this pasta I have used penne pasta. Spinach in this recipe adds great flavour , taste and colour to this pasta.
Ingredients:
200 gm penne pasta
1 cup packed chopped spinach
1 table spoon butter
1 table spoon maida (all purpose flour)
1 cup milk
2 slice plain cheese
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
3-4 garlic pods
1 tea spoon oregano
1 tea spoon chilli flakes
1 table spoon oil
Salt to taste.
Preparation:
1. Fill a large pot 3/4 full of water add 1 table spoon oil, and salt and bring it to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook until al dente (tender).
2. Drain the penne pasta and set aside
3. Heat 2 cups of water in a pan and add the spinach. Cook the spinach till it wilts
4. Drain the water and set the cooked spinach aside.
5. In a thick bottom pan heat butter, add crushed garlic and saute till garlic turns brown in colour.
6.To this add the maida and mix well so that no lumps are formed.
7 To this add the milk and stir well.
8.. Add the cheese slice and mix till the cheese melts.
9..To the above sauce, mix the chilli flakes, salt, oregano and black pepper powder.
10 Add the cooked spinach and mix well.
11. Finally add the cooked pasta and mix well.
11. Serve spinach pasta when it is hot along with garlic bread.
