This blog is aimed at those who love to cook simple home made food with minimum available ingredients.The style of recipes in this blog will be mostly Dakshina Kannada (Vegetarian) home made food. However I intend to share recipes other than authentic Dakshina Kannada cooking which include cuisines from Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab...There is also something for those who like cuisine from across the sea.

Tandoori Pineapple

                                     
Tandoori Pineapple with Mint Chutney
We normally come across tandoori potatoes . This sweet and tangy dish made by marinating pineapple  is a wonderful  starter for parties.  Serve tandoori pineapple with mint chutney and watch the guest licking their fingers and asking for more!

Ingredients:
For tandoori powder
2 tea spoon coriander powder
1 tea spoon jeera powder
1 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 tea spoon mace powder
1/2 tea spoon haldi
1 tea spoon garam masala powder
1/2 tea spoon cardamom powder
A pinch of red food colour

1 cup curd
Salt to taste
1 medium size pineapple
For mint chutney:
1 cup curd
1/2 cup mint leaves
1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves
1/2 onion
2 green chilies
3 garlic pods
1 tea spoon honey
1 tea spoon jeera
1 tea spoon olive oil
salt to taste

Preparation:
 Mint chutney
1.Grind all the ingredients for mint chutney along with curd.
2. Refrigerate this chutney till ready to serve
 Tandoori pineapple:
1. Peel and cut pine apple to pieces.
2. Mix well  all the ingredients for tandoori powder.
3. To this tandoori powder add curd and salt, mix well.
4. To this curd mixture add the pineapple pieces and mix well.
5. Rest this mixture for 6-7 hours for the pineapple to marinate well.
6. Spread this marinated pineapple on a baking tray and bake for 15 minute
7. Serve tandoori pineapple with mint chutney.
