Coconut Almond Burfi |
Coconut burfi is a popular Indian sweet. It is made with fresh coconut and sugar. I have added almond paste to enhance the taste, texture and flavour.
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh coconut grated
1 cup almonds
2 cup sugar
2 table spoon ghee
2 table spoon milk
1 tea spoon cardamom powder
1/2 cup water
Preparation:
- Soak the almonds in warm water for an hour and remove the skin
- Grind the almond to a smooth paste adding milk
- Boil 1/2 cup water in a thick bottom pan and add sugar
- When sugar completely dissolves add the grated coconut, almond paste and keep stirring on a medium flame
- Add the ghee and continue stirring till a mass is formed
- Add the cardamom powder and mix well
- Spread on a greased plate and allow it to cool
- Cut into desired shape and store in airtight container
