Coconut Almond Burfi

Coconut Almond Burfi

Coconut burfi is a popular Indian sweet. It is made with fresh coconut and sugar. I have added almond paste to enhance the taste, texture and flavour.

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh coconut grated
1 cup almonds
2 cup sugar
2 table spoon ghee
2 table spoon milk
1 tea spoon cardamom powder
1/2 cup water

Preparation:
  1. Soak the almonds in warm water for an hour and remove the skin
  2. Grind the almond to a smooth paste adding milk
  3. Boil  1/2 cup water in a thick bottom pan and add sugar
  4. When sugar completely dissolves add the grated coconut, almond paste and keep stirring on a medium flame
  5. Add the ghee and continue stirring till a mass is formed
  6. Add the cardamom powder and mix well
  7. Spread on a greased plate and allow it to cool
  8. Cut into desired shape and store in airtight container
